At the core of Lineal is its founder, Elaine McDevitt.
In recent years Elaine’s work has largely encompassed events, education and research projects. She executes the project from concept to completion, taking an holistic but strategic view to address all elements; from its purpose, to programming, promotion, sales and budget.
Elaine is also an Associate Lecturer in IADT.

Elaine is working with the Made in Wicklow team to deliver the 'Head, Heart, and Hands' Showcase (2025) and 'The Cinematic Thread: From Screen to Craft' exhibition at Powerscourt Estate, supporting creative excellence and fostering collaboration, as well as a series of "Meet the Maker' talks and interactive sessions with renowned craftspeople, nurturing an understanding and appreciation of local craft.

Elaine facilitates art workshops in mental health day services on an ongoing basis.

A series of 26 workshops held across 13 County Wicklow Library locations in January 2024, in the lead-up to the launch of the Wicklow Craft Trail. Elaine programmed and managed workshops with craft practitioners in Pottery, Calligraphy, Woodwork, Bookmaking, Willow Weaving, Crochet, Felting, Jewellery Making
This initiative was a pilot education programme borne out of the Wicklow Craft Strategy 2023–2027.

This is an annual horticulture event with a focus on quality, sustainability and visitor experience. In 2019, Elaine took on the role of Show Director and considerably grew attendee and stall holder numbers, along with a robust speaker and activities programme, whilst developing a boutique feel.
She worked with the event stakeholders and brought photographers and AV experts to maximise impact.

This is a significant research and communications project undertaken by the 100 Archive with the support of Creative Ireland. In Elaine’s role as Lead Researcher, she researched 2,300+ submissions, identifying cultural, social and economic relevance. In doing so, she also developed content in the form of articles, interviews, infographics and more. The project came to fruition, in association with animators, designers, developers, PR professionals and more.

This important conference marked the 40th anniversary of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. Elaine handled traditional event management tasks such as ticket sales, door management, venue and supplier liaison, event signage and mapping. She also worked with the DRCC to develop a digital exhibition of the social events that led to its foundation.

This is an oldie but as a significant publication project that united the history and future of the design and advertising industry, worth including. Elaine was involved in all areas of the project, successfully receiving funding, co-editing the publication with Mary-Ann Bolger, managing the design process and contributing articles.
